Road Characteristics:

A link is a length of road over which the traffic flow is assumed to be uniform.Links are independent of one another. Existing Link Characteristics:To describe the characteristics and conditions of road sections at the beginning of the analysis period. This identifies and provides basic data on all road link. RoadMaintanence:

To specify alternative maintenance standards to be applied to different types of road surface and associated road maintenance costs. A road maintenance standard is defined as a set of operations with definite intervals or other criteria to determine when to carry them out. Any maintenance standard is applicable only to a particular surface and for a specified range of traffic flow.

Vehicle Fleet:

To give general characteristics of vehicle groups that make up the fleet. Vehicles may be defined in various ways, e.g., according to type (car, bus, truck,...), capacity (5-ton,10-ton, 15-ton trucks), design (engine power, fuel type, axleconfiguration,... ). Whatever categories are chosen must be related to appropriate vehicle types covered by the vehicle operating cost (v.o.c.) relations that are to be used.
